Jafira's Philosophy
"Instead of dwelling on what could have been, or what should be, instead focus on what can be, remember that your destiny is not predetermined, but only placed on a path, if you choose to follow that path then you allow for mendacity to rule you, but if you stray off that path and create your own, you then can control your own destiny.

Thereby live each day as if it were you’re last, create your own path in life, seek adventure, ignore pain and find laughter in all things." ~ Jafira Dragon

Sort of! A new species of Mangrove Monitor Lizard has been discovered.

Article on EcoWorldly

It also has a wikipedia page already, but I have no idea how accurate the information there is: Short article on Wikipedia

Varanus lirungensis is described in the latest issue of the Australian Journal of Zoology. Discovered on the Talaud Islands, a small Indonesian archipelago, the new species is carnivorous like all other monitor lizards, and it is closely related to the giant Komodo dragon and the crocodile monitor. Researchers were surprised by the discovery, since they had originally arrived to study another species of monitor, the Asian water monitor (Varanus salvator). ~EcoWorldly.com

This new 'dragon' has just been discovered this past week. Its so cute, I'm waiting to see it breathe fire though. Wink

Neat, always good to hear of such things, I once had a Nile Monitor lizard, its the same general concept in appearance, it was about three feet long, often wondered loose in my house and acted more like a cat then anything else, I had a good relationship with it and had it for many years, so I can say from experience that monitor lizards in general are really quite fun if you can get a hold of one, though at the same time, like any other animal, they are a lot of responsibility and require a lot of work and supervision. Still, as said, amazing creatures, best pet/friend I ever had was a monitor lizard.

As for waiting for it to breath fire, that may take a while, though you never know, maybe there will be some surprises in store. Wink
